To make an 8 pointed star

CH 4. Join with a SL ST to form a ring.

Row 1, CH5, (to stand as 1DC and CH2) * 1DC into loop, CH2* Repeat * to * 5 more times. Join into the 3rd of the CH5. 8DCs and 8 CH1 SPs.

Now just follow from Row 4 of the Round Ripple Bedspread
